The perfect heel
Our different types of heels:
SUPADANCE offers a variety of different heels ... suitable for the respective model or the respective purpose (standard, Latin, training, etc.).
Certain heel shapes are intended for certain models ... and you can only order the shoes with this heel as standard.
However, there are often several paragraphs to choose from.
Irrespective of this, we can also produce your favourite model with your favourite heel. This is then a customised product that is subject to a surcharge. However, not all variants are technically possible. However, we will be happy to inform you whether your configuration is possible.
You can find more information on customised products under the "Customised products" tab in the "Advice" menu.
Flare
The flare heel is positioned very far back towards the heel. It therefore provides particularly good support for women who stand with their weight on the heel (e.g. in a pose). The flare heel is also wider at the bottom than, for example, the contour or stiletto heel and therefore offers a larger standing surface, making the flare heel a typical heel for Latin.
Stiletto
SD
Our SD heel is our new, thicker version of the stiletto heel. It has been expertly balanced and centred for added stability. The new favourite for many ballroom dancers.
Contour
The "contour" is the most common heel for standard shoes. It initially appears very similar to the "flare", but differs fundamentally in its alignment to the centre of the shoe or foot. The "contour" therefore protrudes more towards the centre of the body. This gives the wearer better control - especially for standard dancing (see also the comparison of the two heel shapes here). Especially for the heel steps in standard dancing, it is an advantage if the heel is aligned a little further towards the centre of the body. Heel turns are also easier.
Cuban
The "cuban" is a typical "block heel". It is common for flat standard and Latin shoes. The cuban heel is wider and therefore has a larger surface area. The body weight is distributed over a larger area and the lower height means that other leverage forces are at work. It reduces the risk of slipping and injuring yourself. It is also more forgiving of "slips" than other heels. This heel is therefore particularly suitable for "future" dance professionals...
ATTENTION: Models with this paragraph can usually not be paid with PayPal, because PayPal as an American company has the word "Cuban" in a "blacklist" and payments are rejected ... seriously.
Social
The "social" heel has been specially developed for hobby dancers and dance school dancers who value a secure stance and good danceability - but do not want to compromise on a good shoe design. The social heel is wider than the usual "flare" or "contour" heels and therefore offers more surface area and a better stance. The risk of twisting your ankle is lower than with conventional heels. At 2" (5.08 cm), the "social" heel is also not too high and is therefore particularly suitable for older women who no longer like to walk or dance in high heels. It is harmoniously adapted to the shape of the shoes and fits perfectly.
Regulation
The "regulation" is a very wide heel. It is used exclusively for children's shoes that have to fulfil certain regulations in ballroom dancing (which our children's shoes do, of course). The very wide and flat heel is intended to reduce the risk of accidents for children on the one hand, and on the other hand not to force a posture that could have harmful effects, especially during the growth phase.
Slim
The "slim" is an even narrower "Cuban" heel. It is usually worn with higher heels. Due to the heel height of at least 2.5" (i.e. approx. 6.3cm), this type of heel is more suitable for experienced ladies. It looks very classy and "makes a great foot".
Low-C
The "low heel" is the classic heel for a men's standard shoe. The special way of standard dancing requires a flat and wide heel to guarantee the best possible balance and weight distribution. Most of our models are supplied with the modified "Low C" heel. The "C" stands for "cushioned". A thin layer of rubber is incorporated into these heels to cushion the heel. This increases comfort immensely.
Latin-C
The "Latin Heel" is now the typical heel for a men's Latin shoe. The "Donnie Pro" was one of the first dance shoes on the market - if not the first! - with this then new heel shape. Due to the height of up to 4.2 cm (back), which is quite considerable for men, a completely different statics is achieved. You stand much better "over" the foot. However, the change from flatter Latin shoes, e.g. when changing from children's shoes to the Donnie Pro, takes some getting used to and requires intensive training...
High-Latin
The High-Latin heel is the slightly higher version of the Latin heel (Lat-C). The High-Latin heel has a height of 2", i.e. just over 5cm, and is therefore suitable for men's ballroom dancers who like to have their centre of gravity even more above the foot ... or for dancers with a taller lady.
Curved Heel
The arched heel is a new design feature where the heel curves upwards at the back and is cushioned in the centre to support heel guidance. It is very similar to our low cushioned heel (Low-C) but has the added feature of the arch at the back.
Comfort-Heel
